Police History Society AGM & Conference 2018

After dinner on Friday evening, the first speaker will be Harry Wynne – “Back on the Borough Beat: History of the Sunderland Borough Police”. Saturday morning will start with the PHS AGM followed by a host of speakers : Prof Clive Emsley, Dr Pete Moore, Patricia O’Sullivan, Tony Rae and Dr Clifford Williams. The subjects are “When Bobby met the Mafia”, “Sex and Drugs were not invented in the 1960s”, “Pot-shots at the Police – The Hong Kong Force moves into the 20th century”, “Finding the Forgotten Fallen – Police Casualties of the UK and Empire” and “The policing of gay / bisexual men in England and Wales”.

In addition,  Norman Kirtlan will be an After-Dinner speaker with his illustrated talk “Death and other Dark Places”.

The conference is open to both members and non-members of the Society.
