Buxton Museum holds the Derbyshire Police Collection which was displayed in a working police station in Derby. The collection was transferred to the museum in November 2004 as a gift from Derbyshire Constabulary. The collection is not currently on display.

The Police Collection is not currently on display. The collection includes Derbyshire Police uniform, equipment dating from 1833 to the modern day as well as crime related materials such as drug paraphernalia, counterfeit money and offensive weapons. There's also a large collection of photographs with images from the 1890s to the modern day depicting police from across the county.

Access to the museum is free. Opening times:
Tuesday to Saturday: 10am to 5pm, last admission 4pm; Sundays (Easter to end of September): 12pm to 4pm, last admission 3.30pm; Bank holidays: 12pm to 4pm, last admission 3.30pm.
Though the museum holds many law-related and policing documents it does not hold the archive of personal policing records. If you're researching your family history you may find more information from the Derbyshire Record Office and Derbyshire Police.
