Cambridgeshire Archives is fortunate in having an excellent collection of police records. Our largest collection was transferred to us from the former Thorpe Hall Police Museum, Peterborough, and covers several different constabularies. The catalogue can readily be viewed by searching our internet search engine at:
http://calm.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/calmview/
and then searching under ‘Advanced’ for Staff Reference Number ‘K1360’ (Cambridgeshire Archives papers) or ‘KPOL’ (Huntingdonshire Archives papers).

Historic Buildings?

Shire Hall was constructed from the bricks of the former County Gaol that stood on the same site. We have identified the location of the execution shed and have on occasion used a small information board to highlight this on heritage open days.
